Teens Showed
Their Leadership

The Teen Leadership Conference last week was a great success. Studies have shown that the peer pressure is one of the largest influences in a young person’s life and the group of RUHS peer leaders who helped at the conference have taken that concept and turned it into a positive cycle that will benefit all in the future.

Immediately, all of the peer leaders should feel good about themselves for a job well done—they were fantastic. They are now in place to help train future peer leaders from RUHS; and most importantly, they have shown the younger students that it’s "cool" to be a kind, gentle leader and help others. They, in turn, will be able to model that behavior to the students who follow.

I would like to recognize Deb Lary for going "above and beyond." We all know the challenges that Deb has with her daughter’s health, and yet she made a special point to make sure that each of the seventh grade class was able to attend. With Deb’s help and your support, I was able to find funds that allowed the entire seventh grade to attend and Deb’s belief that all students should be able to have the same opportunities came to fruition.

John Holmes and Judy Hynes put this together at the administrative level, and we had the support of the Randolph Rotary and the Lamson-Howell Foundation. It makes one feel proud of our Randolph community.
