Is Valuable

We just found out that Chris Costanzo has resigned as our reporter from Bethel after an incident at this evening's selectmen's meeting.

Needless to say, this is not good news for the citizens of Bethel. Since Chris has been our reporter we have been more informed about what's going on in our town government. Without Chris we will lose this important source of information.

Perhaps someone should remind the Selectboard members of Bethel that:

"Freedom of the press (or press freedom) is the guarantee by a government of free public press for its citizens and their associations, extended to members of news gathering organizations, and their published reporting. It also extends to news gathering, and processes involved in obtaining information for public distribution."

We hope you will find a way to get Chris to resume the important task of "gathering news for public distribution" in Bethel to keep us informed.
