Audrey L. Rice

WOODSTOCK—Audrey L. Rice, 70, died March 20, 2007 surrounded by family at her daughter’s home in Reading.

She was born on May 18, 1936 in Gardner, Mass., the daughter of William and Ellen (Dennison) Gawthrop.

After receiving her nursing degree, she worked for 20 years at the Holden Massachusetts Hospital and then for 18 years in the birthing center at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

Survivors include her two daughters, Nancy Haapakoski of Oakham, Mass. and Lisa Moulton of Reading; and two granddaughters, Amanda and Jessica Johnson, both of Reading.

She was predeceased by her husband, Robert Gordon "Bunny" Rice in 1983.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 24 at 1 p.m. at the North Universalist Chapel in Woodstock. William Sheldon will officiate.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, One Medical Drive, Lebanon, N.H. 03756.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Cabot Funeral Home in Woodstock.
