GRANVILLE — Rodney A. Brown, 71, died Saturday, March 17, 2007 at his home. He was born August 22, 1935 in Rochester, the son of Max and Mina (Warner) Brown. He attended Rochester schools, and following his education, worked at Cone Automatic in Windsor for a year. He served with the U. S. Army during the Korean War. After his discharge from the service he returned home and worked at Goodyear in Rutland, Granville Manufacturing in Granville and Bettis Auto in Hancock, before starting his own business, Rod’s Car Care, in Granville. He owned and operated the business for 25 years and continued to work there until retiring in 2006. He was active in the Granville community, having served as a selectman, constable, overseer of the poor and road commissioner. He enjoyed gardening and feeding and watching the birds. Survivors include three sons: Charles Brown of Granville, Max Brown of Randleman, N.C. and Myron Brown of Rutland; two daughters: Robin Brown of Randleman, N.C. and Lisa Steventon of Rochester; three brothers: Homer Brown of Rochester, Russell Brown of Ohio and Robert Brown of Jamaica; two sisters, Mary Ward of Sterling, Va. and Doris Benware of New Hampshire; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Max and Raymond; and a sister, Sylvia. Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 22 at 3 p.m., at the Community Church of Hancock and Granville with Rev. Wayne Holsman officiating. There are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Valley Rescue Squad, PO Box 131, Rochester, Vt. 05767.
