Eileen Thurston HANCOCK—Eileen M. "Beany" Thurston, 54, died Tuesday morning, March 13, 2007 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph. She was born March 26, 1952 in Randolph, the daughter of Lewis and Dorothy (O’Neil) Watters. She graduated from Rochester High School and was a lifetime area resident. She married James E. Thurston on June 22, 1969 in Rochester, and worked at Vermont Wood Specialties from 1972-75. She traveled with her husband cross country trucking for Daily Express from 1977-81. She then worked for Granville Manufacturing in Granville from 1991 to the present. She enjoyed watching television, crossword and jigsaw puzzles, and watching birds (especially hummingbirds) at the feeder. Survivors include her husband, James E. Thurston of Hancock; a brother, Donald Watters of Rochester; two sisters, Lois Mears and Kathy Watters, both of Bethel; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Charles O’Neil. Memorial services will be held Saturday, March 17 at 11 a.m. at the Community Church of Hancock-Granville, with Rev. Wayne Holsman officiating. There are no calling hours. Committal services will take place in June at the Hancock Village Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the Valley Rescue Squad, P.O.
