Tabor Hits
824 Series
By Jill D. Montgomery

Trevor Tabor can't help but grin as he remembers his incredible 824 series he bowled Monday at Valley Bowl in Randolph (Herald / Bob Eddy)

Trevor Tabor, 18, of Braintree, bowled an 824 series at Valley Bowl in Randolph on Monday, March 5. An 800 series, Valley Bowl owner Wayne Warner assured The Herald, was the "equivalent of finding a diamond in your backyard!" A rare occurrence to be sure.

Warner also said, "I don't think that anybody has bowled an 800 series at Valley Bowl and maybe not even in the Randolph area. Long time bowler Ron Warner added that he "didn't recall anybody hitting an 800 series at the old Rose Bowl lanes either."

Tabor started off his night with a 255 game, followed that with a 279 and capped the night off with an outstanding 290 game. Tabor is no stranger to bowling; he started bowling at an early age in the Youth Bowling League at the old Rose Bowl.

Tabor remarked Tuesday, "I was pretty tired that night, I had worked 12 hours and I had no idea of going for an 800 series. It just happened. I was speechless when it happened. I got 32 out of 36 possible strikes. My last high series was 694 and now it’s 824. Pretty cool."

Tabor was bowling in the Green Mountain League when he got his 800 series, the same league that Randy Bradley bowled his 300 game in on February 19.

In the final game, Trevor opened with a nine spare frame and finished with all strikes. Apparently the whole house stopped and watched him bowl the last three balls. And as the saying goes—You could have heard a pin drop.
