No Conspiracy
On SoRo Board

Having attended nearly every Royalton Selectboard meeting in the last three years I see no evidence of a conspiracy as indicated by Karen Karin in her letter to The Herald last week.

In that letter, Karen Karin says that elected town auditors are "the only genuine check on the behavior of the selectboard." I suggest anyone with doubts about "selectboard behavior" simply attend a few selectboard meetings themselves.

The current Royalton Selectboard works well together. They work hard and maintain an appropriate degree of respect for each other and the small number townspeople who actually attend board meetings.

As one might expect, even hope, there are differing opinions, but on the question of eliminating the position of elected town auditor, according to my notes, the board has been unanimous since the beginnings of such discussions.

If there is a conspiracy, indeed they must all be involved. What do you think? You know these people; you voted for them. Do you trust them? I do.
