Royalton Plan

The Royalton Town Plan is up for ballot vote on town meeting day. Town plans are up for re-adoption every five years, and ours expires March 6.

If Royalton residents weren't able to attend any of the hearings on the town plan, copies are available through the town offices. The only changes made were to amend information about the town so that descriptions are current and accurate, (such as, the new town garage), and to correct typos. Even these minor changes were warned, and had hearings before the Planning Board and Selectboard.

It is important to approve the existing Town Plan. To be eligible for grants and assistance from many State programs we must have a plan in place. The flood plain and FEMA aspects are important examples.

The Planning Board was awarded a grant in December to re-write the plan to be in accordance with such ordinances. All the public informational gathering last summer was to get input on regulatory ordinances.

Please vote yes to the Royalton Town Plan.
