Political Cartoonist
Danziger To Speak

Syndicated political cartoonist Jeff Danziger, whose career started in Vermont, will give a slide talk about editorial cartoons Thursday, March 8 at 7 p.m. at the Tunbridge Public Library.

Last September, Danziger published "Blood, Debt and Fears: Cartoons of the First Half of the Last Half of the Bush Administration." He received last year’s Herblock Prize awarded for distinguished examples of original editorial cartooning and the Population Institute’s 2006 Press Award for Cartoons for work on the subject of global population growth.

Danziger is a decorated U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War. In 1971, after his service, he taught in East Montpelier and sold his first cartoons to the Times Argus for $1 a piece. He has published a novel and 10 books of cartoons, and was twice a Pulitzer Prize finalist while with the Christian Science Monitor.

A book signing and refreshments will follow the free library Winter Evenings program. For information call 889-9404.
