Immigrants I have tried to keep quiet about the recent article on ClearSource needing to train new immigrant employees in English at its Randolph plant, but cannot in good conscience do so any longer. I am not anti-immigrant. As a white person in America, I realize we are all immigrants, but isn't there enough unemployment and substandard work for tax-paying residents already here? It's a shame Randolph bends over backwards to allow its spring to be drained for private profit. It brings severe environmental impact, as this article on bottled water clearly shows: <http://www.commondreams.org/views07/0218-05.htm. Bottled water has extreme impact on oil consumption. It is usually held to lower standards than tap water, and all those plastic bottles, being made on site, contribute to pollution and global warming, and the litter ends up in our landfill. Also, what veto power do local residents get against bad employers if, when they vote with their feet to avoid said companies, they are simply replaced by immigrants, who compete with our unpaid and underpaid residents in housing, services and more, while too many work substandard jobs to subsidize companies and immigrants?.
