Is there a separation of powers problem in Royalton?

Last year a decision was made to omit the town salaries from the town report. This year it appears there are those who want to eliminate the position town auditors. What is the real reason?

As a taxpayer hoping to minimize the cost of government to me, it would seem wiser to retain the elected position of auditor, save the expense of paying a professional team of yet more employees, and encourage openness of government in Royalton.

Community spirit would be fostered by having Royalton people look at the books. Professional auditors, for a price, could likely do as good a job as locally elected people, but would they be mere hirelings? I am running for the position of auditor and seek your vote.
