Go 2 & 2 By Monica Parshley On Thursday, Jan. 25th the South Royalton girls began a tough chain of games against some extremely good teams. The first was a close home win against Rivendell, with SoRo finally pulling ahead in overtime to win 43-42. The top scorers for South Royalton were Chelsea Wilmot and Mairi Lamson with 11 points apiece. Rivendell was lead by Jordan Dyke who also had 11 points and Beth Schwartz with 16. SoRo's next game was against Thetford on Tuesday the 30th and resulted in them winning 38-28. Jane Manby had a spectacular defensive game, stealing 11 rebounds. Lamson was the top scorer with 13 points. The top scorer for Thetford was Chelsea Williams with 16 points. Their third game on Thursday, Feb. 1 was a loss at Rivendell. The score was 55-33. Callie Jozefiak had eight points and Chelsea Wilmot had seven points. Megan Sarazin and Deva Steketee led Rivendell with 12 points each. SoRo's last game was a loss against Thetford on the third with a score of 48-36. South Royalton started off strong, playing very well during the second quarter. At the end of the first half, the score was 20-11 in favor of SoRo. The third quarter, however, was the deciding factor of the game. Thetford came back quickly, scoring 19 points to SoRo's zero. The high scorers for Thetford were Chelsea Williams with 16 points and Kaitlyn Godfrey with 15. SoRo was led by Callie Jozefiak who had 21 points. South Royalton's next game is on Thursday, Feb. 8th at The Sharon Academy at 7:30. ____________ |
