RANDOLPH- Fredrick Michael Streeter, 83, died peacefully January 29, 2007, surrounded by his family. He was born in Wilmington March 11, 1923, the son of Earl and Mary Streeter. He graduated from Wilmington High School, attended Saint Joseph's Business College and graduated from Ithaca College. He married Eleanore Cook November 24, 1950. He started his teaching career in the Bethel School system and then taught for many years in the business education department at Randolph Union High School. He also coached boys' and girls' basketball and led the Randolph girls' basketball team to two state championships. In 1962 he started the Vermont Soccer Officials' Association and was its first president. His love of athletics continued throughout his life as a soccer official, a basketball referee and baseball umpire. He remained involved with the younger generations during summers as director at Pinnacle Day Camp in Lyme, N.H. for 20 years. He was a long-time school board member at RUHS and RTCC. He also served on the vestry at St. John's Episcopal Church for several years. He was a member of the University Club and had numerous occasions to speak on all topics. He retired from teaching in 1981, focusing full-time on his successful painting business. He passed the business to his son in 1985 while continuing to work alongside him for the next 20 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and was an avid card player, reader and gun collector. He also enjoyed puzzles, woodworking, playing horseshoes and tinkering in his basement. Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Eleanore Streeter; his daughter, Linda Streeter and her husband Jon Harris and their daughter Alexandra of Essex Junction; his son Gregory Streeter and wife Bonny of Morrisville; his daughter Melissa Streeter and her husband Gary Hutchinson and their children Jenna and Dustin of Brandon; his brother, Alpheus Streeter and his wife Senta of Wellsville, N.Y.; his sister-in-law, Priscilla Streeter, of Sandwich, Mass.; and his brother Edward Streeter of Shenandoah Junction. W.Va. A memorial service will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, 2007, at 1:30 p.m. at the Randolph Union High School Auditorium. Following the service, there will be a gathering in the school cafeteria. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Kimball Public Library, 67 Main Street, Randolph, Vt., 05060; or Interfaith Caregivers, P.O. Box 2000, Randolph, Vt., 05060.
