Thieves Kick in Doors
Of Six Seasonal Camps

State police are investigating a series of camp break-ins that occurred between the evening of Wednesday, Jan. 17 and the morning of the following day.

Unknown persons kicked in the doors of at least six camps and seasonal homes near the Braintree-Rochester town line and on East Hill in Brookfield.

The camps are on Riford Brook and Thayer Brook Roads in Braintree, Little Hollow Road in Rochester, and East Hill in Brookfield, police said.

According to Cpl. Paul Gauthier, the primary target appeared to be firearms and liquor. At least one handgun was stolen, as well as several hunting knives, shotgun ammunition, hard liquor and beer.
