E. RANDOLPH—Dorothy E. Montgomery, 79, died peacefully Saturday, Jan. 13, 2007 at her home in E. Randolph. She was born April 15, 1927 in Barre, the daughter of Clyde and Nellie (Sears) Wood. She attended Williamstown schools and graduated from Williamstown High School in 1946. She married Victor Montgomery July 11, 1946 in E. Brookfield. They lived in E. Brookfield and Braintree before moving to E. Randolph in 1976. In earlier years, she worked at G.W. Plastics in Bethel and at Merrimaids in Randolph. She later had a ceramics business with her daughter Edna. She also did house cleaning in the area, until retiring in 2002. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, cooking, strawberry picking, playing Scrabble, playing cards and going to Foxwoods. Survivors include her husband, Victor Montgomery of E. Randolph; her son, Stephen Montgomery of Royalton; three daughters: Audrey Pease of Royalton, Carolyn Flint of Ocala, Fla. and Donna Howard of Braintree; a brother, Stanley Wood of Royalton, two half-brothers, Raymond Lavigne of Westford and Ralph Lavigne of Arizona; a half-sister, Irene Alamanzo of Pear Blossom, Calif., 12 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Edna Race and a half-sister Louise Nocera. Memorial services will be held Saturday, Jan. 20 at 11 a.m. at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph, with Pastor Marty Bascom of the E. Randolph Baptist Church officiating. There are no calling hours. Burial will be at the E. Brookfield Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made toe the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 1460, Williston, Vt. 05495; or to the American Diabetes Assn., 77 Hegeman Ave., Colchester, Vt. 05446. Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home of Randolph. ____________ |
