Chelsea Boys Lose Close Game
By Mary Childs

A fourth quarter comeback attempt by the Chelsea Red Devils wasn’t enough to overcome the Williamstown Blue Devils as the Chelsea boys came home with the 44-37 loss last Tuesday.

The Blue Devils jumped out to the first four points before Chelsea’s Zeb Allen tallied two buckets of his own. Williamstown pulled away in the second quarter giving them the 21-13 advantage going into the second half. Williamstown seemed to put away the game in the third quarter as they dumped in the baskets.

Towards the end of the third Chelsea’s defense picked up forcing two turnovers by the Blue Devils to give Chelsea two easy lay-ups, closing the gap to 10 points. But as the buzzer went off Williamstown sank a three putting Chelsea down 13 points. The Red Devils didn’t give up, they forced turnovers and worked the fast break to their advantage. Chelsea’s impressive comeback led them to within two points of Williamstown. Unfortunately controversial calls and foul trouble halted Chelsea’s drive and Williamstown came away with the win 44-37.

Allen was Chelsea’s high scorer with 16 points. Chelsea’s record falls to 2-2.
