SoRo Girls Nip Northfield

On Wednesday, Dec. 27, the South Royalton girls stole a win from Northfield on their home court. It was a close game, with a final score of 34-29.

SoRo dominated the first half of the game, scoring 18 points to Northfield’s five. However, Northfield caught up towards the end of the third quarter, taking advantage of made foul shots. Eventually, there was a mere one point difference between the scores, with SoRo holding at 18 points and Northfield pushing their score up to 17.

At the beginning of the last quarter of the game, the score was 22-18 in favor of South Royalton. At this point, the game became a defensive battle between the teams. Before the final buzzer sounded, Northfield managed to score 11 more points and SoRo 12.

The top scorers of the game were Callie Jozefiak with 13 points and Sophie Roy with 8. Northfield’s top scorer was Ellen Ricker with 20 out of their 29 total points.

South Royalton’s next game is an away game against their rivals, the Thetford Academy today, Thursday, Jan. 4, at 6:30.
