SOUTH ROYALTON—David Rodriguez Soler, 80, died Tuesday, Dec. 19, 2006, surrounded by family and friends. He was born in Newark, N.J., May 13, 1926, the son of Pampilio R. and Evelyn (Brown) Soler. He grew up in Cranberry, N.J., and served the Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. After his military service, he became a New Jersey state trooper. Later, he earned bachelors and masters degrees from Seton Hall University, and went to work in administration at Princeton University. Following his retirement from Princeton, he moved to South Royalton to be closer to family. His dog Sheba was very special to him. He leaves a daughter, Adrienne Soler of South Royalton; two sons, David Soler of Beacon Falls, Conn., and Mike Soler of Monroe Township, N.J.; two grandchildren; and a sister, Grace Cummings of Texas. He was predeceased by his wife of 51 years, Mary (Kletcher) Soler, in October 2004. Memorial contributions may be made to South Royalton Senior Center, P.O.
