LEBANON, N.H. — Katherine Ada (Leech) Crook, 84, died Sunday, Dec. 17, 2006 , at Harvest Hill in Lebanon, N.H. She was born February 19, 1922, in Meredith, N.H., a daughter of the late Howard and Maude (Callahan) Leech. Both of her parents died when she was 12 years old, and she was raised by her paternal grand-parents in Philadelphia. She received her R.N. degree from Temple University Hospital, and worked there as an operating room nurse. In the late 1960s, she worked as a staff nurse at Kimball Union Academy, and then as an operating room nurse at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Crook lived in Meredith, Lebanon and Goffstown, N.H.; Philadelphia and Warminster, Penna.; Hartford, Andover and Groton, Conn.; Alexandria, Va. and Brookfield, Vt. She spent the last five years at Harvest Hill in Lebanon. In 1946, she married Maj. Malcolm S. Crook, USMC, in Drexel Hill, Penna. A quick grace characterized her sparkling nature. Survivors include her husband of Lebanon; two sons, Daniel Crook and Jonathan Crook; two daughters, Margaret Ellis and Judith Holland; six grandchildren; and one sister, Eleanor Lewis of Lexington, S.C.
