Chelsea Girls Beat TSA

The Chelsea Lady Devils hosted the Sharon Academy December 12 and came away with their first win of the season, 28-24.

Sharon held an early lead in the first quarter as Chelsea struggled to find their offense. However by the second quarter Chelsea picked up their defensive game and held the Phoenix scoreless, leading Chelsea into the half with a 15-8 lead.

Chelsea continued to take their shots and apply defensive pressure throughout the second half. In the fourth quarter Sharon attempted to take the lead with a sudden comeback, but Chelsea pulled off the 28-24 win.

Zannah Pierce was top scorer for the Sharon Academy with 12 points. Heidi Hatch was Chelsea’s high scorer with nine points and Mary Childs put up seven points.

Loss to SoRo

The Chelsea Lady Devils played Division III powerhouse, South Royalton, last Saturday and came away with a 41-22 loss. The Royals came out strong in the first quarter establishing a lead within minutes. Chelsea never made the recovery and went into halftime down 24-10.

Despite Chelsea’s efforts the Royals walked away with the win. Jane Manby led the Royals with 11 points. Chelsea’s Jill Cray led Chelsea with 10 points as Morgan Wadkins chipped in four. The Lady Devils fall to a split record, 1-1.
