Barbara B. Baird NEWINGTON, N.H.-Barbara Badger Baird, 80, died peacefully in the company of family Sunday, Dec. 10, 2006 at Exeter Hospital. She was born Dec. 15, 1925 in Portsmouth N.H., the daughter of Orville and Marjorie Sausser Badger. She was a graduate of Portsmouth High School, Vesper George School of Design in Boston and the University of New Hampshire. She taught for 20 years at Great Bay School and Training Center, working with special needs children. She maintained a keen interest in the Great Bay Estuary and, for many years, was a volunteer with the Great Bay Coast Watch water quality monitoring program. An avid golfer, she was an active member of the Portsmouth Country Club, was PCC Ladies Champion for a number of years, and was a 30-year Honorary Member of the New Hampshire Women's Golf Association. She was predeceased by her husband, Robert M. Baird. Survivors include three children: Malcolm E. Baird of Indian Harbor Beach, Fla.; Leslie Hutchinson of Randolph, and Badger M. Baird of Newington, N.H.; four grandchildren, two sisters, Norma Vigneau of Tucson, Ariz.; and Patricia Herne of Brookline, N.H.; one nephew and several nieces. Memorial Services will be held Sunday, Jan. 7 at 12 noon at the Portsmouth Country Club.
