Youth Chorus Performs
The newest version of the Sounding Joy! Youth Chorus, conducted by Marjorie Drysdale, made its debut last weekend in a concert in Waitsfield, combining with a Mad River Valley chorus conducted by Andrea Bonamico. Including both elementary and high school students, the chorus will also perform several numbers in Spanish on Sunday, Jan. 7 as part of a Sounding Joy! concert that afternoon at 4 p.m. at Bethany Church. At the concert the Sounding Joy! adults will also perform folk-inflected Mexican music, with the help of percussion and steel drums performed by Scott Paulsen and Barbara Smith. In a more classical vein, the Randolph-based chorus will sing Poulenc's difficult but strangely beautiful "Gloria" with Lynette Coombs at the Bethany organ. |
