RINK RAT

A week ago The Herald gave me the go-ahead to write a rink news column each week during the skating season. At the time, it seemed that we would be skating as we speak. It would have been the earliest opening of the rink in my time there by two weeks.

All the preparations were completed, the staff and equipment were ready to roll, it was just a matter of building our ice surface a little further. Anyone who drove by noticed the quality and appearance of the surface indicated we would be skating soon.

Unfortunately, the current and short-term (10-14 day) projections now have us on standby for at least two weeks. We always target being open for the holiday vacation time. That is still our hope.

For information regarding when we will open call Kelly at the Boys and Girls Club at 728-3010 or the rink line at 728-4647.

Painting Project

We are currently staining, taping and spackling, and painting the inside of the rink building. This is being done by a team of volunteer local professionals. If you have previous experience or skills in any of these areas please call 728-4875 or 802-522-3073 if you have some time to give to this project.
