Olympic
Snowboarder
To Coach
At Whaleback

Pete Thorndike, Olympian and three-time national champion in Alpine snowboarding, has joined Whaleback Mountain this winter to coach Whaleback’s Core Snowboard Team.

The team will compete in both freestyle and alpine events throughout the Northeast this winter.

Thorndike will also run snowboard camps and clinics and offer private instruction.

"Pete Thorndike is a huge asset to Whaleback and the Upper Valley," said fellow Olympian, Evan Dybvig of Bethel, who met Thorndike while both were guests at the White House as part of the 2002 Olympic Team.

"We’re very fortunate to have him, especially since quality snow board instruction is in great demand in the Upper Valley."

Thorndike hails from Mereditn, N.H. and for the past 15 years has dedicated his life to all things snowboarding, including competing, coaching, product testing and research. He now lives in Cornish, N.H.
