Donna Whitmore

BETHEL- Donna Ford Whitmore, 54, died early Tuesday morning, December 5, 2006 at Gifford Medical Center in Randolph.

She was born June 22, 1952 in Randolph, the daughter of Fay "Bud" and Freda (George) Ford. She had lived in Tunbridge and South Royalton, moving to Bethel in 1967. She graduated from Whitcomb High School in 1970.

She married Wayne Whitmore in Bethel on September 9, 1978. She had worked for Clifford of Vermont for 18 years, and most recently as an Instructional Assistant at Whitcomb Junior-Senior High School. She was a member of the United Church of Bethel, was a time and score keeper for Whitcomb High School athletic events, and enjoyed Bingo and puzzles.

Survivors include her husband, Wayne D. Whitmore of Bethel; a son, Travis Whitmore and his wife, Liz, of Winooski; two stepsons, Douglas Whitmore and his wife, Sheri, of East Randolph; and Matthew Whitmore of Kansas City, Mo.; her father, Fay "Bud" Ford of Bethel; two sisters, Suzanne Rogers of Bethel and Pamela Tate of Lebanon, N.H.; one grandson and one "grand-dog."

She was predeceased by her mother, Freda (George) Ford, a brother, Steve Ford; and a sister, who died at birth.

Funeral services will be held Monday, Dec. 11 at 10:30 a.m. at the United Church of Bethel, with Pastor Thomas Harty, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Bethel. Calling hours will be from 5-8 p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 10 at the Day Funeral Home in Randolph.
