Fantastic Fantasy Parade!

The Mid-State Riding Club held its 11th annual Winter Fantasy Parade in downtown Randolph last Saturday, Dec. 2, and except for the weather being a little windy, everything went just fine.

Tom Harty announced the entries on Main Street and judges for the parade were Yvonne Campbell, Abby Mason, Elaine Hall and Marge Cowles. Prize donors included Vt. Bell Company, Tucker’s Garden Center, Central Supplies, Thelma Murray, the Holt family, Mid-State Sports and Sky View Farm. Prizes were awarded during a potluck lunch at the Randolph Elementary School.

Prize Winners

Most Beautiful: Sarah Isham and Louise Calderwood for "Angels in Treetops."

Funniest: Kacie Johnston and her pony "Squeaker," welcoming in the holiday season.

Best group: Leigh E. Johnston and family from Campton, N.H., with their brightly-decorated wagon.

Vintage Costume: Charlie Ballou with his horse pulling a sleigh on wheels.

Most Original: Anne Silloway dressed as a wreath.

Judges’ Favorites: The Ostler family from White River Junction, also Gail Billings with her ox, Wesson, and her grandson Brandon Lyford with his friend John Billow as elves.
