Tunbridge Winter Evenings Schedules Six Programs

Editorial cartoons, history, music and the environment will be among featured topics of the third annual Winter Evenings series at the Tunbridge Public Library in January, February and March.

Refreshments and author signings will follow the 7 p.m. presentations. All programs are free, with donations welcomed.

The series will begin with poet, playwright, author David Budbill and "New Poems and Scenes from a New Play: Love and Rage, Father and Son" Thursday, Jan. 11. Author, historian Howard Coffin will speak about "Vermont and Human Freedom" Thursday, Jan. 25.

On Thursday, Feb. 8 author and naturalist Ted Levin will give a slide talk on "Liquid Land: A Journey Through the Florida Everglades." Shepherdess Linda Faillace, author of "Mad Sheep: The True Story Behind the USDA’s War on a Family Farm," will speak about that experience Thursday, Feb. 22.

Syndicated editorial cartoonist Jeff Danziger will discuss editorial cartoons Thursday, March 8. The series will conclude Thursday, March 22 with musician Kristina Stykos and the band Wagtail presenting "Fire in the Kitchen: New American Roots Music from Central Vermont."
