The returning wrestling team for Randolph looks strong this season. The team has seven returning wrestlers, and two new members to the squad. Randolph's team consists of four seniors, one junior, two sophomores, one freshman, and one independent sophomore from Northfield. Also on the team is Felipe Ewertz who is an exchange student from Chili. Ewertz is unable to compete in actual tournaments because he has already graduated high school, but he is having fun learning and practicing with the team. Aaron Dumont has also returned to take the role of varsity coach. The seniors this year look solid. Wes Simpson is looking to wrestle at the 119 lb. weight class. Ben Adams is wrestling at the 189 lb. weight class. Seth Dezan hopes to wrestle at 171 lbs., and James Wright plans to continue to be in the heavy weight class. Due to a knee injury Wright is currently awaiting test results and will hopefully be back in action mid season. There is only one junior on the team this year, David Maxfield. Maxfield is looking to wrestle at the 130 lb. weight class. The sophomores include Stephen Bent wrestling in the 160 lb. weight class, Amanda Deyette is new to the team this year, and she is going to be the lightest member of the team wrestling at 103 lbs. Tom Kirkpatrick is the other sophomore joining the Ghosts this year. Kirkpatrick is an independent from Northfield who practices with Randolph. The only freshman on the team this year is Matt Simpson. Simpson is looking to wrestle at 125 lbs. Randolph has been practicing very hard and is looking good for the first event of the year. The wrestlers first meet is the North South duels, being held this Saturday, Dec. 2, at Spaulding High School. ____________ |
