Looking For A
Great Mother

Vermont Mothers, Inc. is beginning its annual search for an exemplary mother to recognize at the convention of American Mothers, Inc. next April 25-28 in Los Vegas. Churches, organizations, and clubs are encouraged to nominate an outstanding mother for this honor.

To be eligible, mothers must be at least 45 years of age with natural or adopted children. Every Vermont nominee will be named a Merit Mother and one will be chosen to be the State Mother of the Year.

Mothers are chosen on their success as a mother, their involvement in their church and community, and their unselfish service to others.

Whoever nominates a mother needs to be ready to assist the mother in gathering the letters of support and other segments of her portfolio due to the nature of motherhood in shunning self praise.

Nominations must be completed with the portfolio by Jan. 15. Nomination blanks and other information may be obtained by contacting state contest chairman Beverly Croteau, (Vt. Mother for 2003), 6 Mountain King Run, Barre, Vt. 05641.

E-mail users may inquire of grannycro@hotmail.com

There have been years when there was no Vermont Mother to represent our state. I was personally honored to be chosen the Vermont Mother of the Year in 1999 and am striving to make sure that one of our outstanding mothers represents Vermont every year.
