I can imagine that we could be proud of an "independent" Martha Rainville should she become the lone Vermonter in the House of Representatives. But now is not the time to send her.

Even an "independent" Republican could be the deciding seat that gives the present House leadership the majority they need to maintain their present support for the Bush administration's failed policies. Can we afford to prolong the Iraq agony for two more years? Can we ignore global-warming for two more years? Can we ....?

You get my drift.
