Stella M. Haire

BRISTOL, CONN.—Stella M. Haire, 84, a former resident of Rochester, died Monday, Oct. 23, 2006 at the Bristol Hospital in Bristol, Conn.

She was born Jan. 18, 1922 in Warren, the daughter of Howard and Isabelle (Paquette) Wakefield.

She ws raised in Warren and attended schools there.

She married Clyde H. Haire Dec. 24, 1938 in Rochester. He died in 1993. They had made their home in Rochester and Hancock before moving to Bristol, Conn. in 1954. She had worked as a machine operator for Marlin Rockwell/TRW in Plainfield, Conn., retiring after 31 years of service.

Survivors include two daughters: Elizabeth Day of Bristol, Conn. and Cherri Champion of Mt. Holly; three sons: Roderick Haire of Tolland, Conn. and Richard Haire and Edwin Haire, both of Bristol, Conn.; 14 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her daughter, Gwendolyn Guerrete; a brother, Edwin Wakefield; and a sister, Elloe Flemming Benoit.

Funeral services will be held Friday, Oct. 27 at 11 a.m. at the Hancock Community Church, with Rev. Wayne Holsman officiating. Burial will be in the Hancock Village Cemetery. Calling hours will take place at the church Friday, from 10 a.m. until the time of the service.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Day Funeral Home of Randolph.
