Wants Neal Fox

In Vt. House

As a citizen of Bethel I want to see Neal Fox in the Vermont House. I can’t forget how diligently he worked last year as chair of the selectboard to lower the town’s share of the Church Street Bridge, saving Bethel hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I know that he spent considerable time contacting sitting legislators, visiting them in Montpelier, and tirelessly making our case in front of legislative committees.

At the same time he devoted a great deal of time to other municipal matters including working to keep Bethel’s tax rate growth to an absolute minimum.

It occurs to me that anyone who was so effective in Montpelier in supporting the interests of our town while he was outside the legislature would be even more effective if he had a seat within it, representing the interests of all four towns.

Ms. Haas has had a term in the office and has been mostly ineffective. Of greater concern is that she fails to represent Bethel. She has not attended selectboard or school board meetings and had no dialogue at all with municipal officials. Four BBA breakfast meetings each year is not sufficient representation. It’s the same in Stockbridge and Pittsfield. I’m sure Rochester fared better, but it’s a four-town district, not a single-town district.

Except for Rochester, everyone else got short changed and under represented. Neal Fox is well known and well liked in Bethel, Stockbridge and Pittsfield and once Rochester gets to know him better those voters will also realize he is the logical and best choice. Those folks in Rochester that already know Neal also know he will be best for them as well.
