3 Wins for Lady Royals

On Tuesday, Oct. 10, the South Royalton girls beat Rivendell, 3-0. South Royalton shot a total of 26 times, with goals made by Heather Burbine, Mairi Lamson, and Shanna Duffy.

Rivendell only shot four times, but made it up with their goalie Rosa Tift, who made 21 saves.

Close Win

The Lady Royals had a close win over Thetford on Thursday, Oct. 12. Both teams played a good game, but South Royalton managed to pull ahead when Megan Whitcomb made a spectacular goal in the second half.

South Royalton shot 12 times in the game, Mairi Lamson being the top shooter with five. Mary Arnold of Thetford also made five shots out of the 11 team total.

Bigger Win

South Royalton ended their regular season with a bang at The Sharon Academy Monday, Oct. 16, dominating the opposing team 5-2.

Sharon Academy put up a good fight, with Kathleen Parent and Chloe Madigan scoring one point apiece out of the five shots made during the entire game. Mairi Lamson led South Royalton’s offense, shooting eight of 15 shots made in the whole game.

South Royalton scored just once in the first half, but stepped it up a notch during the second, with Callie Jozefiak, Chelsea Wilmot, Alex Honkala, and Mairi Lamson scoring one goal apiece.

South Royalton hopes that their winning streak will hold out through playoff season which starts in the next couple of weeks.
