Stockwell Racing Heads West! Kip Stockwell and his Busch East Series #16 are heading to Irwindale, Calif. to race in the 2006 Toyota Allstar Showdown. This race is by invitation only and is the second year in a row that the Stockwell Racing Team has been invited and participated. Kip’s father Lennie Stockwell is driving cross country with another team in a tractor trailer that will hold Stockwell’s blue #16. Kip and other crew members will fly into Los Angeles and hope to qualify on Friday, Oct. 20 and race in the showdown on Oct. 21. Both qualifying and the race will be televised live on the Speed Channel. Kip and the Stockwell Racing Team are sponsored by Randolph National Bank, Randolph Auto Supply, Foley Services and Sabil and Sons, Inc. In 2005, after arriving in California, blowing an engine in practice, and working day and night to put in a borrowed engine, Kip and his team finished 19th. "It was a wonderful experience, and we are honored to be asked to go again this year. We have worked hard this season and our final points standing puts us in 11th spot. Not too shabby for a family operated team out of the beautiful hills of Braintree, Vt. We have had a great season, and owe it to our sponsors, family, and friends. They make it possible for us to race with the Busch East Series," said Stockwell. ____________ |
