Whitcomb Boys Upset Indians

So far it’s been an up-and-down season for the Whitcomb Hornets boys team who won one and lost one to end 2005. Traveling to Danville on Tuesday, Dec. 27 and facing the Indians in their only regularly scheduled meeting it was Whitcomb who handed the hometown boys an upset victory, 77-72.

Two Hornets in particular had exceptional point tallies with both Ryan Barrows and Ryan Adams scoring 21 points apiece. Barrows scored most of his points during the first half, while Adams garnered his in the second half. Two other Hornets also contributed to the cause. Sophomore Devin Hill started in place of regular starter Tim Aldrighetti, who has a back injury and did "a really good job" according to coach Jeff Mills. (Aldrighetti could be out three to four weeks, so Hill has an opportunity to get in some serious playing time).

The other Hornet who came up "big" for Whitcomb, was junior Cody Griffin. Griffin scored only 5 points, but the nice 3-pointer and another a hoop were "key" in the decisive fourth quarter that Whitcomb utilized by outscoring their opponents by 10, 23-13.
