John A. Raineault RANDOLPH—John A. Raineault, 84, died Monday evening, Jan. 2, 2006 at Central Vermont Hospital in Berlin. He was born Sept. 9, 1921 in New Britain, Conn., the son of Aubrey and Edna (Yetto) Raineault. He was raised in Bridgeport, Conn. and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was married to Cheslava Bednarczyk, who predeceased him. He graduated from the Connecticut State Police Academy and was a state policeman out of Westport, Conn. for 14 years. He was then a county detective for the State Attorney’s office out of Bridgeport, Conn. for 17 years, retiring in 1978. He moved to Randolph in 1994, and enjoyed golfing, music, and crossword puzzles. He had been a member of the Conn. State Police Association, and the Conn. State Police Academy Alumni Association. Survivors include his longtime companion, Jeanne Highton of Randolph; a son, Jack Raineault of Norwalk, Conn.; a daughter, Susan Raineault of Bangor, Maine; three grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren. At his request, no services will be held. Contributions in his memory may be made to Gifford Medical Center, P.O. Box 2000, Randolph, Vt. 05060. Arrangements are by the Day Funeral Home in Randolph. ____________ |
