ATV Issue
Should Be Settled

As a resident of Royalton I am writing in reference to the article in The Herald dated March 6, the use of ATV’s on all town highways in Royalton.

The people of Royalton voted not to rescind the policy.

It seems to be that some of the selectboard members are not satisfied with the decision of the people. The selectboard would like to hold a public meeting May 7 at the Royalton Academy Building at 7:30 p.m. to discuss the issue.

As an ATV rider I was willing to abide by what the people had decided at town meeting. Why won’t the selectboard do the same? If the vote had gone the other way would we be allowed to call a special meeting or be told that the vote was final?

They are on the board to look out for the people’s interest.

The people have voted not to rescind the policy and have it remain as it is.

What part of do not rescind the use of ATV’s on all town highways do they not understand?
