Hancock School District’s
Annual Meeting is Tonight

The voters of Hancock are reminded that the town’s annual school district meeting will be tonight, Thursday, May 3 at 7 p.m. at the Hancock Town Hall.

This is the voters’ opportunity to ask questions, get answers and express opinions about information included in the school report.

Two school directors will need to be elected. Incumbent Wendy Dwire, whose three-year term is expiring, has said she will run for re-election. Dennis Cassidy has resigned and Jill Jesso White has expressed interest in running for the remainder of his three-year term.

At the meeting, voters will also be asked to approve the proposed school budget of $546,995 for the 2001-2002 school year.

Finally, Article 7 asks voters to decide whether they want to change their Annual School Meeting back to Town Meeting Day in March, instead of continuing to hold it in May.
